fill cell b1 with a text when cell A1 is not empty

I want to fill cell b2 with the text yes when Cell A2 is not empty, formula in cell A2

in b2 you can use this formula =if(a2="","","Yes")

Yes, I know, but the formula has to come in colum A, colum B has to stay empty because I use =NOT(ISBLANK(B1)) in datavalidation but thank you for your help. I solved it with VBA

I tried your solution 2 days ago.
When cells in column A are not empty, in column B should be Yes, like what the formula from paramveer does, but then cells in column B are not blank anymore, there are formulas and your suggestion does not work, that was exactly the problem, but I solved It with VBA
