File in Use Message

I am having an issue which may be more related to Internet Explorer than Excel.

I have a spreadsheet which I have made available to a wider audience by making it available from a web page. However, when I use IE8 to access the link, it brings up the Excel file with [1] at the end of the file name and then results in a message of "File in Use", however I am the only one accessing it and I do not have any other sessions running. When I access the spreadsheet directly, i.e. without going via web link, it works ok.

Any suggestions please?

Hi ahhhmed.

What do you mean by changing the name of original file. I will still eventually have the same problem, won't I?
