Excel Table auto numbering in a column [SOLVED]

Hello There,

I have a column Serial Number, in a table. At the moment I am giving this formula to populate the auto numbering for this column: $A2+1. I have attached a printscreen of the same what I am doing now.

When I extend the table, the above formula does not get carried to the next columns.

So I was wondering is there any new way to perform auto numbering in a table?

Could you please advise?
