Hello,

First of all thank you Chandoo for your awesome blog and fabulous templates. I am having a small query. Is there any thing that can be put in or used in excel to show in candle sticks manner for commodity market which has a refresh rate in minute or seconds.

Also I want to compare 2 commodities in a single graph, say silver and gold. X axis has time, and Y axis has the value (amount), this too I want to make in line with live market.

You can import data from a web query:

Excel 2003: Data - Import External Data - New Web Query

Excel 2010: Data Ribbon - From Web - Import data from a Web page

You then navigate to the site which has the live data, select the table of data

This will then link int your workbook, you can select the refresh rate.

Once you have the table of data in your workbook, create a chart from it.

As the data refreshes so will the chart

Thanks Dave Turton,

I am already having the live chart updating and ticking in excel sheet. My sheet1 shows the data...only I want to incorporate the same in one single chart for 2 different commodities....as I said say for Gold or Silver.

Comments and tips welcome

Thanks Dave,

Let me explain :

If silver is on 100$ mark and lead is on 105$ mark. Each and every minute the value changes. I want to record difference between values of both for each minute commodities and mark them on graph.
