Excel Formula

I have two columns that have numbers in them. The first column is usually lower than the second. I am needing to do this, if the second column is higher than the first, I need an "A" in the third column. If the second column is lower than the first, I need a "R' in the third column. Does anyone know of a formula that will allow me to do this?

Hi Christina,

Try this in cell C1 (assuming your data is in cells A1 and B1):

=If(B1>A1,"A",if(A1>B1,"R",""))

I have not catered for cells A1 and B1 being equal as that was not in your original post.
