Excel Cost Benefit Analysis in Excel

My question is, how come he is using 30 days for each month? Is this extrapolation needed in Excel or does he do this to make the math easier?

I'd assume it's to simplify visualisation, charting the. Months is the best pick and by making them all the average 30 days your line will be straight, rather than reflect shorter and longer months (which is not what you're trying to point out) by all means it will work to do it by 365 days, or make the average month 30.44 days long (accounting for 365 days, and leap year, all by 12)
