Excel Addins to speed up Excel

Your Thanksgiving "Ask Anything" question got me to thinking. As I was looking over different Excel options I came across an Excel Add-in that speeds up Excel called "FastExcel" (I am sure there must be others). Up to 12 months ago I wondered why would you need to speed up Excel. I am in that land now where this is now a valid question. Can anyone direct me to sites/forums that have discussed this?

And regarding your question, precisely removing some add-ins you may it run faster. The better practices for formulas and code can be widely found as b(ut)ob(ut)hc pointed out, and the easiest way and the one who brings you a lot of benefits more is... upgrade your machine, e.g., last i7 processor, 24Gb 2000+MHz memory, if disk intensive SSD,... just only one drawback: the investment. But that shouldn't be a problem, would it?
