Excel 2016 Multiple Instances - Random "ghost" formatting

Good day to All,
Recently upgraded to Excel 2016. Using two screens. Want to view Excel on both screens. Because the internet is true, I found a work around to opening multiple instances of Excel. The procedure is to hold down the Alt key and click on the start icon and click on the Excel 2016 icon. A message comes back asking if you want to open another instance of Excel. Yes, I do, thank you very much.

Another Excel instance opens. Great so far, I have Excel on both screens. I'm able to highlight a column of numbers on one screen and see the total of those numbers in the bottom right corner of the spreadsheet. That number stays visible when I click on the other screen which is exactly what I want.

The Problem:
When I start typing in either Excel instance, random line formatting appears on the screen after each entry. It only removes itself when I click on another tab and click back to the original tab. The Ghost formatting is very annoying. Even trying to change the line formatting of the cell or line does not clear it up.

Not sure how to stop the Ghost formatting.

All Ghostbusters responses will be gladly accepted.

Thank you

First try going to File->Options->Advanced.
Then locate Display section and tick "Disable hardware graphics acceleration".

If above doesn't fix the issue...
Try updating to latest driver for your graphics card.
