Excel 2010 SmartArt Hierarchy (or whatever works)

I am trying to build a hierarchy using excel 2010 SmartArt.

I'll give a verbal example of what I am trying to do.

My first represents a holding tank that is full of water. Out of this tank are two separate water lines (line1 & line2), with each line using its own pump (pump1 & pump2). Pumps 1 and 2 jointly, feed four separate units (unit1, unit2, unit3, unit4).

It appears that I am able to attach multiple boxes off one box but I cannot attach one box off multiple boxes.

I like the way Excel SmartArt builds a flow chart (hierarchy) based on what is entered into the text box and would like to input all my data thusly.

Note- I do not want is to start adding boxes and connecting lines manually, do to the sheer scope of my project.

Any ideas?

Thank you,

Bob

Talking about pumps 1 and 2, can you have 4 boxes after them (2 for each), label the two boxes connected to pump 1, and then drag those on top of the unused boxed on pump 2?

I know it's probably now an ideal solution. :(

Hi Luke,

Ya, I tried that and it worked...ok. I will have many different variations so I'm not sure I will be able to do that. I'm just surprised that the only relationships available are one-to-many and not many-to-one.
