Embed Number in cell

I need to input data from a report with stock item codes into an excel document. To make it easier for junior staff to follow I would like to embed the stock item code in a cell so as they can enter correct data in the required cell. ie cell A1 is si code 401 and will be replaced from the report by $35.00 or pax number.

I want to embed item numbers in cells on the template, however I need them to not add in formula is this possible?

Hi:

I could not make out what you want here. If you want your staff to select from a predefined list ( I presume that you meant this by embed), it can be done through data-validation and your formulas can be protected by protecting your worksheet. However, you will have to clearly define your problem to get a viable suggestion.
