Easy formula for # of days in Month

Just found this out and figured I'd share. I'm sure this has been posted before but just for those who haven't seen it.

If you use dynamic ranges and need to update monthly. Or if you have a file that you do daily and each month you need to know the # of days in the month.

Enter the first day of the month you want to know the # of days in a cell.

Then use this formula to find the # of days.

=day(eomonth(a1,0))

This is gonna be great for my dynamic ranges going forward.

Kind of newbie but w.e.

Just to clarify, you don't need to enter the first day of the month. You can enter any date within the month you want to know. Thanks for sharing Montrey!

For 2003 users, make sure the Analysis ToolPak add-in is active if you want to use the EOMONTH function.

For those 2003 users without the Analysis ToolPak add-in active, or just as an alternative

=DAY(DATE(YEAR(A1),MONTH(A1)+1,0))
