Hi Dear Chandoo!!!

I really like your site! It helps me a lot in my life thank your hard work people!

I need help in database building.Please somebody advice how to do this: I have an enormous database with numerous nummber of P/N's, S/N's and etc'

I really really need to find quickly the P/N I work with by reading the barcode with a laser pistol. Shortly, I want when I scan a barcode, excel will automatically links me to specific appliance,spair part or document as well.How do I connect appliance to its user manual, to its spair parts? Its really complicated for me, I'm new in Excel, but I love it!

Assuming you have the correct software, when you scan with the barcode, it will write the value of the code into a cell. You could easily write a few VLOOKUP formulas to return the info about that p/n from your database.

Thanx for response! Barcode is the number...part number. I want Excel to find all devices,documents with the specific P/N like I press "CTRL+F" function...Where can I find the example of such a workbook? Or if I could send you my file to enter there this function please?

I need to find quickly the P/N I work with by scanning into the Excel cell the barcode by a laser pistol and when I scan the barcode,in the cell we can see the P/N.Now I need excel will automatically fill the blanks cells: Producer Name,Model Name etc' and links me to specific appliance,spair part or document as well. Its really complicated for me, I'm new in Excel, but I love how it works !


There are many Excel Ninjas here....Try yourselves in this complicated mission.I can send the file with database to somebody who can help...
