Display Elapsed Days in Dynamic Design

Hello All ~ Our team wants to display elapsed days in a really dynamic design. Our facility wants to highlight the number of days since a patient fell. I can easily do the Excel math but am looking for some suggestions on displaying the data. We have Sharepoint and shared network drives. Histograms and gauges have been discussed in our team (ho hum) -- but I'd like to do something with a bit more panache!
I've been following Chandoo.org for almost 2 years... and have found the suggestions, designs and resources absolutely fantastic!

Since you have not provided any sample data, my suggestion is to use either a gantt chart (with conditional formatting) or scatter plot with error bars.
