I've read the posts on how to display months with no data in pivot tables. I have not been able to get this to work correctly.
Issues: my data spans months and years. When grouping by month (only), the pivot table sums the months regardless of the year, so I have both years' data in a single month. When I group by years/months, I am not able to filter on a date range to select only the period I want.
Also, I am not able to format the date to how I want it displayed (ex: YY-MMM)
EX: I may want to only display 2020 October - December, and 2021 January to October. I am not able to only display those months/years. Any pivot filters for year are ignored.
