Difference in HTML tags/class

I am soon happy with chandoo forums, that I have referred many of my friends to get quick resolution related to excel.

I searched on website but did not get a proper clarification for below terms in excel VBA for Web.

I understand the difference between -
Getelemenybyid/tag/class/name.
However on many sites I have seen people using -
document.all.tags or document.all.item
I want to know the difference why we are using the above code.
I mean we can use getelememybyid directly

As these statements do not exist in VBA 'cause are in external librairies
better is to search on MSDN website …

Any idea in which scenarios do we have to document.all.item.

In some instances where you don't know element type/name etc.
You may need to loop through every available elements and check.

Or you can use .All on an element to loop through elements that belong to the element.
