Deleting rows & columns permanently.

Hi Please advice how to delete rows and columns permanently.

When I select rows after A10 till last....& select delete, it gets deleted but when I scroll down again then it gets increases.
What I need is....Even if I press down arrow after A10, It should not move downwards.....Same for columns.

Please advice !!
 
Why not just disable your scrollbars if you don't want to see the rest of the workbook? When you delete columns, you are in fact only deleting their contents.
 
Hi ,

You cannot delete columns or rows ; what you can do is hide them.

Select columns P through XFD (the last column to the right) and hide them ; similarly select rows 24 through 1048576 and hide them.

Now , moving the cursor will only take you from column A to column O , row 1 to row 23.

I Agree with Narayan..you can hide the columns and rows for which you want to prevent the user from scrolling..

You can also password protect the worksheet for preventing the user from unhiding those rows and columns
 
Thank you all for your advice. Actually a few days back I read somewhere how to make your sheet more attractive for looking & therefore few shortcuts were given to delete or I don't know for Hiding the rows & columns.

When I applied them my sheet had only data of 10 rows & 5 columns...rest blanks were hidden/deleted. Even I was not able to click on rest of the sheet apart from the active rows & columns.

First I did google but couldn't find that again, that's why asked what is the solution to delete them permanently.
