Default value from List

hi Good morning,

i am having a requirement where i have used data validation in a cell to pick either Y or N.
my requirement now is, the cell should show default N if nothing is selected. Can this be done without code? or if this can be done with Code what will be the code?

hi Belleke,

thanks for your example file. The IF formula you used is referring to J column. In my case I do not have a blank column either before or after column with Y/N option. Can we have a formula to refer only column K?

I don't think it can be done with a formula (I am not a formula expert)
