Decreasing Calculation formula

Guitman

New Member
I have three cells in a work sheet. Cell 1 = Quantity, Cell 2 = Cost, Cell 3 = Total Cost.
I am trying to find a formula that will change the total cost cell once the quantity is changed.
Example
Cell 1 shows the quantity of 1
Cell 2 shows the cost for 1 off at £100
Cell 3 I require the total cost to change by a specified percentage that I can enter into the formula when I change the quantity. If I change the quantity to 2 off I need the total cost to be reduced by 25%. If I change the quantity to 3 off I need the total cost to reduce by 35%, If I change the quantity to 4 off I need the total cost to reduce by 45% etc. up to a maximum of quantity 10. Any quantity above 10 will remain the same cost as a 10 off.
What is the formula please

Good day Guitman

Please let us know what it is you are selling...with your discounts they are a must buy....to reduce by 45% etc...ect!!

I will take 10...you owe me monies.....:D

Quantity--- Discount
----2----------25%
----3--------- 35%
----4--------- 45%
----5--------- 55%
----6--------- 65%
----7--------- 75%
----8--------- 85%
----9--------- 95%

Hi, Guitman!

Give a look at the uploaded file. If you place a discount table in columns E:F (Qty, %), you could use a formula like this:
C2: =A2*B2*(1-BUSCARV(A2;E$2:F$11;2;VERDADERO)) -----> in english: =A2*B2*(1-VLOOKUP(A2,E$2:F$11,2,TRUE))

And please don't take b(ut)ob(ut)hc seriously, maths have never been his forte. BTW, maybe I'm interested in a little quantity, just to start and give a try, would it be possible? A couple of millions of units... on a daily basis, of course.

Regards!

Good day SirJB7, I hope life is good for you.

I put the table together using the OP's formula of 2=25%, 3=35%, 4= 45% and the "ect", still waiting to find out what they are selling....:)

But what ever it is I hope it does not weigh very much for you shipping costs will be astronomical....:)
A couple of millions of units... on a daily basis, of course
...and my math is weak,.. I least I stopped at 95%....:p

Hi, old dog!
Good afternoon and my same wishes for you too.
I was thinking on selling FOB to Guitman's competitors once his stock got exhausted. And if a monopoly product, well why not a non hostile taking? After cashing a few operations of course.
Regards

Hello my Friend

I just love Guitman's discount policy....2 units cost £150, 9 units cost £45...not sure what the number of days it will be before they go bankrupt but must be in single figures.....:D
Freight On Board will not be there for long.

Hey Guys, the figures used were only made up out of my head, that's why I wanted a formula that I can input and change the figures. I am not selling anything, the formula is for labour hours on a reduced rate depending on how many units are installed. Hope it keeps everyone happy. Thanks for the help, at first glance it looks just what I wanted.

@b(ut)ob(ut)hc
Hi!
Now it's even worse!!! One thing is selling multiple units losing money (promotional campaign, tax issue regarding money laundry, all is Ok) but paying for work? Naaahhh, this is insane!
Regards

@Guitman
Hi!
Here with my friend and associate b(ut)ob(ut)hc we're thinking of hiring HR from you... around a thousand qualified mathematicians? Just for a few years, until we earn so as to buy a Caribbean island...
Regards!
