dates format get changed after 13th day of the month

when I enter date in dd/mm/yyyy format the date changes to mm/dd/yyyy upto 12th of every month. as I enter the 13/05/2013 the date does not change and remains as it is. I am not able to do grouping while doing a pivot.


can anyone explain how to correct this !

Hi Kulkarni ,


When your system default date format is mm/dd/yyyy , you cannot enter a date in dd/mm/yyyy format , since Excel will not interpret it as a valid date ; it will be treated as text.


You need to enter dates in the format that Excel will accept ; however , depending on the cell format , you can have a valid date displayed any which way you want.
