Can you get Excel to return the name of the Day when you give it a date?


Eg. 20-03-2013 is friday

Certainly ; you can use cell formatting to display Friday , while the cell retains its date value ; use a custom format of dddd. Alternatively you can use a formula such as =TEXT(date_value,"dddd") to obtain the text Friday.
