need data validation dropdown

if i type in cell, where drop down mentioned , only display related value, not a full value. how to do it, please help me..........

Can you please be more specific , and give as much detail as you can ?


1. What is it that you are typing in ?


2. What is the meaning of related value ? To what is the data that you are typing in related ?


3. What is the meaning of full value ?


Are you talking of Auto Complete ?


The more you explain what you want to do , the easier it will be to provide a solution.

If u have a drop down it will not allow you to enter only few character you have to type the full name.


you want to enter ex:in cell A one value & the corresponding values shld be displayed in column B that is possible. is this u r question.


or you want to type a values in the coulmn which has the drop down list & you want the drop down list to match the characters u have entered & show only that list in the drop down.


I guess for this you have to use macros(I doubt that also, Iam not good @ macros)so it just a thought.
