Data Validation and VLOOKUP help

Hello!

I may have done this backwards, but hopefully I don't have to recreate much to save me time in this....

So I have D.V. lists that are filled with text each in a different cell...

10 pts = 100% of shipments on time
9 pts = 99.99% - 98% of shipments on time
8 pts = 97.99% - 95% of shipments on time
7 pts = 94.99% - 90% of shipments on time
6 pts = 89.99% - 85% of shipments on time
5 pts = 84.99% - 80% of shipments on time
0 pts = Below 80% of shipments on time

I would like to use a VLOOKUP to now return the points based on the choices....will this require me now to put the above in " " or can this be referenced as 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 as the 7 choices of the D.V.

Hope this makes sense.....thanks for the efforts all!!!

In the absence of a Sample File it's not obvious what you're having a challenge with, however, here is how I would return the points, by way of a lookup ...See attached file

Hi David,

Thanks for the help!

So is "Shippoints" the name of the table then? If I had 20 different questions, then perhaps 20 tables, one table to control each question?

Hi David,

I named the Table "Shippoints" - I like using Excel's Table feature as it makes the formulas easier to comprehend, in my opinion.

Insofar as your 20 questions is concerned, I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to achieve - a sample file limits the number of blind alleys we can go down trying to help you get an answer
