A ahhhmed Member May 8, 2012 #1 Hi all Sometimes we need to filter data according to different criteria. My question is how to have the number of the resulting data in a separate cell ( in the heading row for example )?

Luke M Excel Ninja Staff member May 8, 2012 #2 Assuming your data has a header row, and that column A always has something in it, you can use this formula: =SUBTOTAL(103,A:A)-1 Nice thing about SUBTOTAL is that it can ignore rows that are hidden.

Montrey Member May 8, 2012 #3 Hey Luke, I've never used this before. What other things is subtotal good for?
