Creating an access log

Hi Chandoo,

I have an excel file that is used by different people and I'm trying to keep an access log of the date/time it was opened and closed, the duration it was opened and the user.

I have trouble entering the formula that calculates the duration. When I run the code I get a run-time error 1004.

The macros are activated on open and before close. A attach an extract of my file.

Also, is it possible to have columns B:E hidden without interfering with the log?

Is there a way I can make use of MyLogCol instead of hard coding the columns?

I am afraid I understood you correctly,as per what I saw in your code you have not hard coded any columns . If you are looking for dynamic columns , follow this link.
