Hello all. I have a workbook that has a Master Sheet that will be updated with color codes for 'Progress' in a construction (build a house) project. Please see the attached. I have two worksheets in the example. The first is entitled 'BIG BOARD' and on that sheet i have an entry called 109 OXFORD. Starting in cell D7 of that worksheet is a color coding system that spans the range of D7:AG7. The column headers are D6:AG6. Each column simply represents the stage of construction of a house. So for example the column D represents 'Design Phase', E represents 'ZONING', etc. The logical steps a developer will go through when building a house. In the US at least. ; ) Could be different elsewhere i am sure. Anyway, in the cell D7 I can color code it Green for 'Complete', Yellow for 'In Process', Red for 'Past Due/Issues', Blue for 'Not Applicable 'N/A', and No Fill for 'Future Work - not started). The goal is for the user to use this sheet to make the appropriate color codings for each project.
There is a second sheet with looks like a copy of BIG BOARD. This sheet is called 109 OXFORD. For the top part of the worksheet it is an exact copy of BIG BOARD. But below row 7 there are additional notes on the project, to do lists etc.
The cells in both sheets are identical for down to row 7. So the columns are the same, D is for Design, E is for Zoning, etc. And the color codings should also be the same.
The goal for this exercise is to have the user make the color coded changes in sheet BIG BOARD and have these color changes be automatically updated in its corresponding cell in sheet 109 OXFORD. So for example i changed the color code in BIG BOARD CELL H7 (Permits) from RED to GREEN. But the color of the corresponding field in sheet 109 OXFORD remains RED. See attached example. Both cells are circled in RED.
I need to have these color changes in BIG BOARD to update the corresponding field in 109 OXFORD. Fields are 1 to 1 so a change in D7 in BIG BOARD should Change D7 in 109 OXFORD. thanks!
