Copied formula not calculating properly

i am trying to copy a formula down a column that uses the same cell as the denominator. i am using $ to lock in the cell and when i copy the result is the same as the original cell that the formula is copied from??? why does this happen. is there a setting wrong?

If the precedent cells have different values then perhaps you have your calculations set to manual? You can press F9 to manually recalculate the sheet, or you can change your calculation option to automatic on the Formulas tab on the ribbon.
