Convert text to formula

Dear All,

I have these cells :

D16 (It's a text string) : e255:e507

E16 (It's a formula) : = CONCATENATE("=SUM(",D16,")") which returns the text
string = SUM(e255:e507)

I would like to use the result in E16 as a formula. Is there a function that can tell a text cell to act as a formula ?

It's been a while, but I remember the great help I received previously.
