how to convert date in excel if i wrote 12/04/2013, but output 12-Apr-2013

1.select the date and press control+1(from top number) then go to custom and paste dd-mmm-yy.


2. suppose your date in A1 the paste the formula in B1 =TEXT(A1,"dd-mmm-yy")

Format the cell first as I suggested then type your date in - does that work for you?

instead of YY use YYYY.
