i have a question about conditional formating

how does the top 10% command works i mean what is its benefits

Not sure if I understand your question..............but if you have a column of data you can use the CF to high light the top 10%,"20% or top and bottom or any percentage or number you want so that you get an immediate visual of your data's value, many use the traffic light system to high light different values
