Compound Lookup with merged cells

I have been trying to do a compound lookup using 3 criteria to return a value as well as using a sumif on 2 criteria with no luck. I have found a challenge that will help some what (Formula Challenge 021). Attached is an example file showing the layout of the file I am using to do the lookup/sumif. Any guidance would be appreciated. The problem is the exported data has merged cells in it and I need to pull over the total for the group A and group b in Q1, Q2 and Q3. Thanks!

See this file, the formula in M12. The problem with exported data will be trailing spaces like you have in SOUTH. I had cleared few.

I made a modification to the formula since I will be pulling the totals for the columns over. THANKS! This works!
