Combine multiple sheet skipping Errors.

I have multiple excel files whenever I open it gives the error "The file format and extension of "file name" don't match." The file comes from an automated tool.

And when I try to combine all excel files through power query it again gives the error "External table is not in the expected format.

I am attaching the sample files. Each file has "Recovered_Sheet1", there are 100 files that need to be merged down the line. Headers are standard in all the files.

Can you please help with this? I'm not good with VBA, Can it be done through Macro?

Please check. Thanks.

Thanks, @vletm for your response.

Sample files are attached in my first post, I receive it from the mail in a zip file from another colleague which he fetches from our org internal tools and he saves it in excel format.

As You wrote Yourself
I receive it from the mail in a zip file from another colleague which he fetches from our org internal tools and he saves it in excel format.
An automated tool >
> another colleague ... saves it in excel format >
> a zip file
and the result of above
"The file format and extension of "file name" don't match."
If those #1 files would be as original Excel-files as possible, there won't be Your written "Recovered_Sheet1".
It would be better to check/verify process ... what to do after an automated tool?
... especially, if before those files - everything has worked.

The file received from the colleague is a customer to which I can't demand a report in the desired format, he collects this data from his internal application and shares it with us to resolve the issues which are in the attached reports.

I am trying to merge all the numerous files into a master sheet and work based on severity.

But the received file gives an error "The file format and extension of "file name" don't match." while opening due to that it seems the power query also gives the error "External table is not in the expected format. " when I try to combine all the files which I put in a folder.

I am looking for a solution to skip this error issue and combine all files.

Thanks.

You seems to skipped last three lines too.
# there won't be Your written "Recovered_Sheet1".
# check/cerify
# You cannot even verify that there has been valid files
I can wish You good luck.
