Column vs Bar Chart Target Line

Hi,

I have a simple Bar chart that needs to show a target line (at 100%). The data is generated from a Powerpivot table. For some reason, I can make get the graph to show exactly the way it should on a Column Graph, but as soon as I switch it to a Bar Graph, it goes haywire - I cannot get the Target Line to stick to the primary axis. Attached are a few screen shots to aid my explanation.

Any help/direction would be appreciated.

Thanks for the link, it is helpful. It is however not possible to add/use a scatter plot for a chart that has been created from a pivot table...

What you can do is show target as bar chart beside 5/31/2013 series.

Then remove all format (No fill, No line etc) then add trend line to the series.

It's a kludge, but only way I know how.

P.S. forgot to attach sample see my next post for attachment.

Here's example for Pivot chart.

Set Series Overlap to 100%.
Then extend trend line by 0.5 period Forward and Backward.
