Clustered Column Chart with Trend line

Hi, I would like to be able to add a line (a trend line) to a clustered column chart. The attached jpg (picture copied from Excel Charts - Easy Excel Tutorial)
shows the general structure, with the red (poorly) hand drawn lines representing what I want to add to the chart.
Excel Cluster with Trend Line goal.JPG

If using Excel's Trend line functionality is not an option (tried it and it goes across the clusters, not just within the clusters), I have already calculated the trend points adequately, so have the data to add as an additional series or combine with an existing series.

In the actual chart I want to create, I am already using the secondary axis for additional data, so using this might not be a solution for me.

Any guidance would be appreciated. (using Excel 2010)

Cheers
Phil

Hi Jafa..

Welcome to the forum.. :)

Here is a cheated method..

Actually what you are trying.. is mixing two different set of axis in a single plot..

I hope, someone will come with a better approach.. :(

Hi Debraj, thanks for showing that as an option. I had started going down that route while waiting for a response, so your "cheated" method helps.

Still hoping someone can show how to achieve this in a single graph.

Cheers

@jafa,

Please see attached file, hope that helps.

Thanks for the example Faseeh. I will work through your example and see if I can fit it to what I am trying to do. The additional line you have included uses the Secondary axis, which I am currently using using for a different measure to the main data.

Cheers
