Hi Vignesh ,

Instead of wanting to try and reproduce such charts in Excel , you should first ask yourself what such a chart tells you ?

Instead of conveying a difference in magnitude using the size of the pie , the chart uses the height of the pie ; in what way does it do its job any better than the standard way ?

Dear Narayan Sir,

Thanks for your reply.

Actually I was thinking it could be easy to visualise which part of the segment is higher amongst the others.
So thought could this be made in excel.
Sorry if I had communicated wrongly.

Hi Vignesh ,

I do not know , but don't you think a simple 2D pie-chart can show a difference in magnitude more easily ?

I am not against trying to reproduce the chart in Excel ; my point is that any chart is supposed to convey a point better than just numbers would do. A pie-chart is supposed to show the magnitude of one item in relation to others ; how would a 3D pie-chart show this better than a 2D pie-chart is my question.

There is no inbuilt option in Excel, you best bet would be to create separate layers for each data point in 3D pie and then place them on top of each other to give a similar effect, add bevel and shadow to enhance effect

Dear Sir,

Nice of you. Thanks for the workings.
Only thing I would like to know is that when value is changed as the charts are overlapping, the shape is not changed uniformly as and when the data is changed against A,B,C.

Yes, unfortunately as we are separating each data point into separate charts, and then overlapping them, updating the data point would mean again shuffling the layers to match 3D alignment and changing the rotation. There is no automated solution to creating a pie like this unless you get a paid software solution. It is best used if you want to show static data rather than variable data that changes constantly

Dear Chirayu Sir,

Thanks for your reply.
