changing values of cell automatically on changing of code

there are two sheets. on one sheet under column A in row 1,2,3 i have designated respective values say elephant,star ,earth.

now on another sheet i want to link in such a manner that if i change the cell value 1 to 2,it should show star in another column ,on changing of 2 to 3 it should show earth, on changing of 3 to 1 it should show elephant.

I think you can do something like this by using Vlookup in combination with a helper column.
