Change Views in Excel

Is it possible to change views based on which user is accessing a spreadsheet? Or... can you give Groups in an Outline a name? I'm trying to make a large database of project tasks fit any type of project we have... :|

Given my limited experience with Excel I don't think you can once a spreadsheet can be opened by all.

You can hide certain columns and rows in a spreadsheet and protect the worksheet with a password. And give the password to the specific group of people whom you want them to have access to the hidden columns/rows. That said, however, the password security in Excel under "Review" in Excel 2007 is only novice to most. According to google searches the comment is that professional Excel users (way above my skill level) can solve the password.

Then there is VBA type of security by double hidding a worksheet (learnt from Hui). but your audience group who needs to access the data would need to be somewhat macro knowledgeable (or you set it up the way to make it easy for them to use).

The biggest problem I see is that if you assign a password and give it out to the audience, there is no control of not leaking the password to those who's not supposed to read the data.

It's just my 2 cents.
