Cell border not appearing while linking cells in excel 2013

HI,

I am getting an error where the blinking cell border is not appearing in the worksheet when linking the cell from one sheet to another. If i restart the excel then it start appearing but if I open a number of worksheets, I again start getting the error in all the worksheets.

It is strange behavior indeed. I can imagine one situation where you may experience non-blinking cell thing. It will be when you have more than one instance of Excel running. Whenever it starts occurring:
- Start "Task Manager" (by pressing ALT+CTRL+DELETE or any method you use)
- Go to "Processes" tab
- Scroll through the list and check how many times either EXCEL.EXE or EXCEL.EXE * 32 appears.
It should be one instance generally!

It was appearing twice. Closed one of them but the problem is still continuing.

I cannot think of anything else at the moment which may cause this.
