Cannot insert row in an excel 2013 table

I have a worksheet with 2 tables separated by 2 rows. Everything worked fine, and I could insert a row in the upper table without any problems. Today Excel does not accept it anymore, even though I have not changed anything to the worksheet.
If I try to insert a row I get the following message:

this operation is not allowed. the operation is attempting to shift cells in a table on your worksheet

Is there a solution for this?

Try putting the tables on separate sheets - I think it has to do with your "stacking of tables" but it's hard to prove that without seeing your worksheet.

Hey David, thanks for your quick reply. Yes, that did the trick. The only thing that still puzzles me is why it suddenly happened today, when it has been working fine for a number of weeks with the 2 tables on the same worksheet.
