Can I use Index or Match to populate a list?

I attached a workbook with a 3 page samples..

The first sheet (test sheet) is the "inquiry page". I would like to be able to populate a list by inputting data in the "search" field. By example; if I put any of the Cable #'s in search, I would like a list of all the data that goes with that cable #. Same for Type or any of the other headings.

The second sheet has all my data.

The third sheet (complete list) is what I wish the result would look like once I put in a search value.

Hi:

I have coded to retrieve the value once you click on the search button on the tab test 2, the macro will retrieve value from the completelist tab base on the search criteria you are giving it can be any of the following
fields

Equipment Designation
Cable #
Type
Destination
Length

and is not case sensitive.

Thanks

Thank you SO much!!

What is the difference between the first one and the one with Error Handler?

One more thing I was hoping to accomplish with this spreadsheet...

Would it be possible to have a sheet for discrepancies as follows;

Almost every cable # appears twice in the "Completelist". When I filter it looks like this;

EQUIPMENT DESIGNATION CABLE # TYPE DESTINATION LENGTH
AC2 52 1c4/0 AC3
AC3 52 1c4/0 AC2

You will notice that the top line Equipment Designation matches the bottom line's Destination.. That means the data was entered correctly. The discrepancy sheet would populate a list of the ones that don't match....

Is that possible?

Hi:

What I understood from your post is that you want a similar search page for discrepancies as well, if that is the case it is possible, if you can confirm this its fairly easy to replicate.

With regards to your #4 the difference with the coding with error handler, if you punch in an item which is not available in the complete list the macro will throw a warning message and will not error out . You can view the code by either right clicking the test2 tab and selecting the option view macro or my simply pressing Alt+F11

Thanks

Yes, I would like a sheet that lists the discrepancies, should there be any..

It wouldn't be a search sheet, just a sheet that lists off the "completelist" the Cable #'s that don't match as per my example..

THANK YOU!!!!

Hi:

Please check if the attached is correct . I have put a match formula to identify the discrepancies and filtered the data and have pasted in discrepancies tab.

Thanks
