Best way to format/setup spreadsheet

Hello All,


I need to summarize some data in my database. I would like to look at all of our products, which customers purchased them and how much they paid. We charge different customers a different price for some items. Since, I have a ton of customers and products I am not sure of the best way to set this up. I am leaning toward a pivot table,but I feel like it will still be too large to be useful. Any ideas?

You say you have a ton of customers, the "ton" says imperial weight..... but you may be using metric "tonne" which is lighter........but that is still quite a lot of customers,

Have you turned your data fields into a table, this woul allow you to very quickly filter any fields to give you meaningful results, if you have Excel 2010 pivot table and then slicers would give you all the data control you want.
