Auto-Running a Macro - Is this possible?

This is just a general VBA question. Say I have a macro that I want to run under certain conditions, otherwise it isn't necessary. Is this possible?

This is what events are for. An Event statement in conjunction with the RaiseEvent statement allows conditional running of macros.
