This may be a basic question, hope I will not need to kick myself.
I have a spreadsheet where I keep staff work statistics, each member of staff has a summary page.
On one sheet I have have daily/monthly percentages for various tasks and at the top of the page I have a small table for the Year.
i.e April to March in columns, names in the rows, each persons monthly percentage is entered.
I have their summary sheet where I want the appropriate value to show however my question is rather than a very basic
Am i making this too difficult or should I just use the very basic?

I would prefer to use criteria i.e if name on summary is John find John on escalation sheet and if date on summary is April find April on escalation sheet and enter value.=Escalation!D3
Am i making this too difficult or should I just use the very basic?
