Adding rows and formulas not correcting themselves on copied tabs

When I create a spreadsheet with formulas that grab data from the prior tabs, I have an issue with additions. I have tab 1, but when I add a row in tab 2, on the next tab 3, the formulas attach to the correct corresponding rows in tab 2. But when I add another sheet, tab 4, they do not adjust for that added row in tab 2, and mimic tab 3. Which means in tab 4, part of the row’s formulas is off. Is there anything that can be done where this does not happen?
