Adding legend name to the last data label

Under Analyzing and Reporting Issue Status, see the chart with red and green lines. The last data point has a data label displayed. But the series name is also included.

I can't figure this out. I selected only the last data point, added a data label, and then right clicked the data label to format. Then I selected series name and I get the name applied to all data points instead of just the last one.

Any ideas?

Also on this webpage, Chandoo assigns a Risk Graph as homework. I have no idea how to even arrange this. Is there a finished copy that I can download?

Hi ,

The thing is to follow this method :

1. Click on the last data point , and select Add Data Label

2. DO NOT CLICK on this data label ; instead , from the Layout tab in the Chart Tools menu , click on Data Labels.

3. You will find the Value selection checked ; check the Series Name box also.

At first it didn't work but now I see. After adding the data label to that last point, I clicked on the chart itself, then selected the Data Labels button. Instead after adding the data label to the last point, I should have left it still selected, then click the data labels button and check series name.
