Adding a 2nd Needle on a Gauge

Hi,

I've been a long time browser on here put first post so here goes.

I am in the middle of creating a new dashboard and wanted to include some gauge charts as a quick at-a-glance view on the RoI of certain projects. I found the following article: http://chandoo.org/wp/2009/11/06/fancy-gauge-chart/, and have managed to recreate and change the parameters etc.

What I would like to have is a second needle on the same gauge so for example the blue needle is this month, the orange needle is last month, to give the users an idea of improvement, or deterioration.

I am at a loss as to where to start on this one, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Mark,

I cannot upload the file from my PC here, but here is how you can do following the example in the link you provided.

1) Copy and paste the Indicator table(Gv, GV+, End) at another cell . You have 2 indicator tables now.
2) Copy and paste the Pie chart you created out of the first Indicator table. You have 2 Pie charts now, with only needle showing. Change the datasource of the newly pasted Pie chart to the 2nd Indicator table you created.
3) You have the new needle now, with the desired value mentioned on the 2nd Indicator table. Move this pie chart onto the doughtnut just like you did for the first pie chart.

File attachment would have been the best way to explain, but cant do it here. Try and let me know. Thanks.

Hi Lohith,

That is perfect, thanks. I wasn't sure if you could add a second coloured segment within the first pie but your method was much quicker probably.

Thanks again for the quick reply!
