Add additional labels in bar graph and set equal to cell value

I am working with a bar graph and want to add an additional side label on the side of each bar to represent how much the value has reduced compared to the previous graph. Hence, the value in the side label will be equal to a formula. Is this possible to do in Excel? Thanks.

Sure thing. You can cause data labels to point to different cells, and the cells would contain the formula you need. Chandoo talks about this method here:

Thanks, Luke. Very helpful. However, I want to introduce a new label (not the one associated with the data - so sort of a text box) and then add a value in it. Is this possible? Or maybe I could use the solution you suggested in my previous post (i.e. add a new data series with no fill/border), except that this will then shift/reduce the width of the original bar :)

Thank you. Your really know your stuff well!

If by new label, you mean some extra data in addition to a label already there, then yes, you'll want to create a dummy series and assign it's labels to cells. A single series can't have multiple labels. =(

Another idea would be to create a custom giant label with all the information in it.
