Active box does not stay fixed in position

Hi guys,

I am working between two version of excel (2007 at the office) and 2010 at home.

I have a worksheet which works with active boxes but when I change the print page or hide a column the active boxes do not stay where they are surposed to.

How do I control that ?

Regards

Rob

Hi, RobSA!

If using glue doesn't solve your problem, what type of ActiveX controls are you using? Text boxes, command buttons, dropdown lists...

The issue arises in both Excel versions?

Regards!

EDIT: if you didn't change the default options of the control form from "Move, but not change size with cells" (or something alike) to "Move, and change size with cells", hiding the columns where the control is located would produce a stacking to the left.

Hi Rob,

If you right click on the ActiveX control > format control > properties tab, you can set the property to not move + size with cells and not to print. This should help. However, my advice would also be not to generally use ActiveX controls embedded on worksheets: there are lots of bugs out there and sooner or later you'll get caught by one. Instead, use forms controls (you would also need to set the move/size/print properties) or customise some controls on the ribbon.

Hi, RobSA!

I disagree with Colin Legg being my advice to use ActiveX controls whenever no technical or political IT regulations apply. I have always found much more user friendly and practical of use the standard properties of them than those of form.

Regards!
