Absent Students=Total students-Present students

I have the names of all the students in one column and the names of the students present in another column. I want to get number of students absent. How can I get that result?

Bipin619, Good morning.

There are several different ways to do this in Excel.

Suppose:
A1:A50 --> All students
B1:B50 --> Students present

a) =COUNTA(A1:A50)-COUNTA(B1:B50)

b) =COUNTBLANK(B1:B50)

Is that what you want?

I hope it helps.

Bipin619, Good morning.

Narayan, greetings from Brazil.

Bipin619,
How the title of your message says and how requested by your message, you have requested the number of absent students.
The formula does just that!

Now, as for your new request, the brilliant colleague Narayan has already solved the issue.

Have an auspicious day.

Dear Mr. Lobao,

If you read the body, it clearly states "name". Nowhere I mentioned "number". But anyway I am thankful you for taking interest in my query.
Thank You.
