    I do this type of thing quite often and find that the Snipping Tool in Start>All Programs>Accessories>Snipping Tool does the job, pastes selective screenshot into current cell in excel. Using Vista

    Protecting Data Validation and Conditional Formatting

    I had similar problems a few years ago with a team of 30 staff. The way I got around this was to have them all put raw data into a dummy spreadsheet (ie without formatting etc) then copy>paste special>values into the master myself properly - minimised risks.

    Thanks very much Chandoo, will set some time aside to give this a go... ...do you know if its possible to have excel draw shapes based on the value in a cell (eg draw a circle and the size is dependent on the value in a cell.) Hope this is clear. Thanks again
