Many thanks for your help. It has raised 2 queries, the first is that as the initial value is pulled into the Excel 2010 formatted table via a VLOOKUP the change event doesn't 'fire' unless I overtype the lookup which I don't want to do!
Secondly, I already have a worksheet_change event to...
I have a data table in excel. As data is entered, a VLOOKUP calculates the price of the items sold. What I would like is a way of taking the result of the VLOOKUP in (for example) cell H4 and 'paste special' that figure into cell M4. However, I need it to be dynamic and do this for each row...
Many thanks for your much appreciated help. I don't think this will do quite what I wanted, but that is down to my explanation! My look-up list currently has around 50 items, the prices of which can change at any point, but I am hoping it will be kept to bi-annual. The data being input can be...
I have a lookup table that lists the monetary cost of certain items. However, I have now been told the costs are to increase, but only items entered after 1st April should use the new price in the calculations. A simplified example would be: in March I bought 5 apples at 10 pence each = 50p...
If I have a cell limited to 250 characters, is it possible to conditionally format any characters over that limit? That is, the first 250 would be black, and the extra ones red. I didn't want to separate out into other columns but that's the only solution I can see so far.
Other worksheets and Word documents are fine - I don't have another pivot to test it on. However, I have sort of solved it by giving up on the pivot table and using a filter instead, with a macro doing the filtering etc. It's not ideal, but the best solution I can come up with. Thanks!
Thanks Fred, but the pivot could be anything from one page to 4 or 5! Maybe I have to look at a macro to reformat it each time, or find an alternative to the pivot.
I'm at my wits end with this one! I have a long, continuous pivot table. However, when I try to print it, it will print the first page (to the very bottom of the paper) and no more! Page break preview shows it as multiple pages but that's not how it prints out. As the length will vary...
I don't even know if this can be done, but if anyone can solve it someone on here will!
I have a workbook with 9 worksheets (Mod 1 to Mod 9). Each sheet has a column that will be completed with yes, no or na (column D) but the number of rows on each sheet varies. If "no" is entered, comments...
